The Academy Modeling, & Leadership with Picturesque Models
Colors are:
MDL MODELS' Colors are Pink (Compassion), Black (Strength) and White (Purity)
PICTURESQUE MODELS' Colors are BLACK & WHITE
The Academy Modeling, Dance & Leadership, also known as MDL, (ages 5-16) with Picturesque Models (ages 17+) has a small staff, consisting of an accountant, paralegal, and instructors. Dr. Dee Wideman, M.S., LPE, NCC, LPC-A, is the modeling Instructor and Education Counselor for the Academy. With over 20 years of experience working with children and adults in various sectors of education and performance, Dr. Dee utilizes modeling, education, community service, and service-learning, to uplift the members in the Academy.
Initially only catering to the youth, the academy offered various services that were primarily focused on the development and growth of young people. However, as our youth aged-out of the academy, many of them still wanted to be connected to the organization. These members wanted to share what they learned while enrolled in MDL. Therefore, we developed Picturesque Models (aka PIC). PIC is an extension of the MDL organization. Picturesque caters to women and offer ways to navigate life as we continue to grow and give back to the community.
Dr. Dee has witnessed each member enrolled in the Academy, blossom and excel in various areas of their lives. We utilize a variety of community resources to provide a platform upon which all members can demonstrate leadership, community service, service-learning and showcase their performance abilities.
What Each MDL Member Gains:
Confidence: Participants will gain confidence while training for the academy’s various public performances. When the youth are encouraged to perform in public, this enables them to showcase their abilities while building their confidence.
Charisma: Learning to captivate an audience with grace and charm, builds leadership. Dr. Dee’s experience as a Collegiate Instructor, School Counselor, Classroom Teacher and Collegiate Modeling Choreographer, enables her to lovingly encourage your child to reach their fullest performance potential. Each member will be trained how to captivate an audience while performing in any setting.
Class: We believe that elegance is not an innate characteristic but comes with the proper grooming and instruction. We demonstrate, teach, and expect each member to practice 'CLASS' on and off stage.
What Each PIC Member Gains:
Each PIC member demonstrates an understanding of Internal & External health and wealth while looking Fashion Fierce. PIC Models will be encouraged to give back to the community and to be an example to the LLGG models.
